Lake Hillier is a saline lake on the edge of Middle Island, the biggest of the islands and islets that make up the Recherche Archipelago in the Goldfields-Esperance locale, off the south shoreline of Western Australia. It is especially eminent for its pink shading. A long and slim shore partitions the Southern Ocean from the lake.

Lake Hillier is around 600 meters (2,000 ft) long by around 250 m (820 ft) in width. The lake is encircled by an edge of sand and a thick forest of paperbark and eucalyptus trees with a tight portion of sand ridges secured by vegetation isolating its northern edge from the northern shore of Middle Island. The most eminent element of the lake is its pink, lively shading. The dynamic shading is perpetual, and doesn't change when the water is taken in a compartment. The pink shading is viewed as because of the nearness of the life form Dunaliella salina. The Extreme Microbiome Project, some portion of the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities (ABRF), Metagenomics Research Group (MGRG), has played out a metagenomic examination on the lake to discover Dunaliella just as Salinibacter ruber, Dechloromonas aromatica, and a couple of types of the Archaea.
Air is the best method of transportation for survey the lake. At a certain point in its history the lake was utilized to gather salt.
