Definitely a glass half full kinda guy. ❤️

I sometimes think that there are two types of people:

Those that divide the world into two types of people….and those that don’t.

But seriously, I really do think we can often make simple generalisations about types of people and how they relate to the world. You know, statements like how some people’s glasses are always half full rather than half empty.

The other day I saw a touching real life example of this. A friend of mine had a builder in doing some work. My friend made him a cup of tea and jokingly (in a friendly banterish sort of way) said that he didn’t want to spoil him. The builder laughed, but mentioned that in truth he had never been spoiled by anyone in his whole life. In fact, his childhood had been especially difficult. Yet despite everything he seemed a genuinely decent, nice, hard-working guy.

I noted the story and didn’t think anything more of it.

Then a few days later I heard his mother had passed away...and even more sadly, he hadn’t been able to get to see her before she died.

Not long after, my husband happened to see him again and expressed our condolences. And here’s  where I get the goose bumps. Despite all his sadness and huge loss - he was still gracious, positive and decent.
