YA BA- THE LIFE DESTROYER.

Ya ba - the youth destroyer. This drug is originally from Myanmar and Bangladeshi youth was unaware of it until 2010. The drug is transported illegal by naf nodi (river) between Bangladesh and Myanmar. It all began with the most powerful man of teknaf(border area ) named bodi. Bodi controls this region and the syndicate on both the countries. It's through his source the ya ba is smuggled to Bangladesh. People here are helpless as his gang has been rapidly increasing in this region to defend him. The government is deaf on his activities as he is member of parliament. Until today no one has been able to eradicate or raise voice against him.
How it's transported

People from Myanmar come across to teknaf to work and make a living . The money hold very less value in Myanmar. This people get paid $100 for smuggling ya ba by boat . Both the country coast guard is bribe by bodi. The ya ba in Myanmar is cheap as $1. The amount of yaba smuggle in one time is around $100k-$500k. Anyone else smuggling other than bodi must pay a certain amount of profit . People in teknaf region lives in poverty and people are willing to do anything for money. The people here are dependent on the income from tourist.
How is it distributed
. Bodi and his team hire kids and ladies to distribute the drug in other part of Bangladesh. The kids easily transport it as they can avoid police hassle and child law helps them to get out of the prison easily. The ladies wear veil to deceive their look and pretend to be a good woman to avoid being checked physically . The youth transport it by putting on bike tank , car seats or tape it on the body. Normally each of them make around 1000$ -5000$ for each trip.
The price variation
Initially in Myanmar the price is less than 0.50sen. once it reaches teknaf the price can go up to $1. The price outside teknaf range from $5-$7.
Gainer and loser

People involved in this chain of smuggle and distributing it within the country are now worth million. The poverty is no more in teknaf region ,lifestyle is no less than a city and transformation of hut to duplex houses. Ya ba has definitely change the life of teknaf people. The loser is ultimately the youth and student. There has been lot of cases of killing and robbery to buy the drug. It's best described as mad drug in the country . People cannot judge from outside if anyone has consumed it as it shows no sign of effect physically but internally it's damaging major organs. The drug is taking over the county rapidly destroying youths life. So far no rehabilitation center has been open or action taken by government to eradicate it. Lots to share about this drug.
