WHY SHOULD YOU STOP!

An intelligent young man was going to take a new appointment in a nearby village for the first time , his route was very close to the railway line. about half way long , an old man had his garden by the way side.
Early in the morning the old man arose to do some clearing in his garden , after a little clearing he suddenly heard a loud frightful noise. it was the roaring of a snake.
He felt sure that the snake , which was usually tied in front of the chiefs house. had escaped. in less than ten minutes the train would come and possibly kill beast. the old man laid down quite frightened in this garden and had neither courage nor desire to continue his work, but he was bold enough to watch for the move the snake would make,and also prayed.

The young man did not know the time of the arrival of the train nor of the danger ahead. he was happy to be his to be on his way to his office, as he went on his way it seemed clear of danger, and he soon came to this old mans garden.
The old man , who was keenly alert , was surprised to see this young man going steadily into the danger ahead .he called very loudly and with fear, stop ,,stop.
He stopped , got off his bicycle to see what was wrong, he asked who is calling , looking around he to see where the voice comes from he saw an old man ,

Shall i stop or go back , asked the young man , no to stand here is death , to go ahead is destruction . take your bicycle and follow me to a place of rest and safety, before he could finish his words the snake sounded .it was obvious that the snake was coming closer. the young man looked and screamed and before he could say any thing the train blew the whistle and there came a huge freight train. To go forward was to face the devouring of a dangerous snake and to go backward was to be killed by the railway train......????????!!!!!!
