Before you even consider yourself ready to move out of your parents’ house, you must have a steady income. How are you going to pay rent and furnish your new place? You must have a steady source of income before you consider moving out.

Having a budget of how much you wish to spend on rent, furnishing, food and other things is necessary. Following a budget keeps you from overspending and enables you to save as well.

3.. Learn to prioritise
You already have a monthly budget for things that are important such as food, light, security etc. You also have to employ a scale of preference when it comes to your monthly expenses. Going to concerts every weekend might skewer your budget and lower how much you save that month.
