Express it to free it

"What you don't release, it doesn't release you"

It's interesting how the human being has the gift of communication, sometimes we are not able to use it in all its splendor, sometimes we just settle in communicating and expressing "what makes the most sense", "the most convenient", "what that the other wants to hear " even if that means it is the furthest thing we want to say. And this refers to both positive emotions and negative emotions. The words that are not said, the emotions that are not expressed, the thoughts that are not shared, accumulate as the water of a dam without spillway, continues to fill up to overflowing.

Have you ever wanted to say something to someone but at the end you did not do it because of: fear, shame, pride? Have you ever run out of say thanks? Has the fact of not saying "I'm sorry" or "forgive me" ever become a bag of guilt with which you have to keep charging? Did you reserve the "I love you" to that special person who always has been there but due to certain circumstances, you can't say it now?

We all have emotions, it is what makes us human, the problem is when those emotions overflow, as when in an argument the screams and rage intervene, that translates into dissatisfaction and unpleasant displeasure not said that when it reaches the top, it has to leave somewhere. Even when there is sadness, nostalgia, anger, if any of these is accompanied with regret, then the "if I had ..." appears and leave us that bitter taste of wanting to change the past, keeping us anchored to him.

What is not said and what is not expressed becomes an unconscious backpack of stones that we carry on our backs and fill up as we keep saving feelings, when it becomes so heavy that we can no longer carry it, we intend to continue walking with a backpack that it has to be dragged, to the point that it is already very difficult to walk, at that moment when we are detained, we have two options; trying to keep walking with a bag so full, or start to take out one by one the stones, which may be many, you may have to invest some time, may even need to leave one that we liked it, but that even so, when trying to take the backpack again, it is no longer as before, its weight has decreased significantly, allowing us to resume our journey without any concern.

The great writer Miguel Ruiz says:

"Words are the most powerful tool you have as a human being, the instrument of magic. But they are like a double-edged sword: they can create the most beautiful dream or destroy everything around you. One of the edges is the misuse of words, which creates a hell in life. The other is the impeccability of words, which will only engender beauty, love and heaven on earth. Depending on how you use them, words will free you or enslave you even more than you imagine. All the magic you have is based on your words "

The good news is that we are still alive, we are still breathing, we can still talk. If there is still possibility of repairing or doing what we didn't do or said, what are we waiting for?. If what I had wanted to say I can't do it, it is not the end yet. Everything is translated to what you have and who you have now. Love those you still have in life, forgive those who have made you suffer, do what you want to try to do and most importantly, forgive ourselves.

Even when it is gratifying to make other feel good, nothing compares to the feeling of being good with oneself, so if you appreciate, thank, forgive and love, it is not for the other, but for ourselves, because all that is inside us. What we release and accept, gives us great well-being, catharsis is performed, gives us a great feeling of peace and tranquility. Living without regrets should be one of the best pleasures in life, a treasure that, although sometimes difficult to achieve, is available to everyone.
