Wolf Motivation #5 - We become what we think about
Welcome to the 5th post of the Wolf Motivation series!
In the following days, you will see motivational quotes which will hopefully inspire you to take action towards your goals.
My aim is to inspire you to take actions towards your goals which you postpone on a regular basis.
Life is short and I don't want anyone to look back in regret.
I'm sure that by now you all have heard the phrase: "You are what you eat" I'm gonna change it up a bit and say "You are what you Think"
The world is what you see and experience around you and what you believe about yourself is often very impactful. It's like a self-fulfilling prophecy. The more you believe one thing to be true, the more evidence you will notice confirming that belief.
Think about it if you have been called athletic all your life you probably spent more time playing sports or dancing than let's say math. Because you put in more time in the physical activity, you got even better at it. Leading you to believe that you really must be a good athlete.
As in many things, this beneficial cycle can also be harmful. If you are being called dumb or insufficient on a regular basis, slowly you will start to think that is true. You will start picking up on irrelevant stuff as evidence of your "mental disability".
Maybe one day you will get a bad grade on a test or make a stupid mistake at your job. Rather than dismissing the event as "mistakes happen" you will frame it as: "I'm so dumb"
The takeaway here is that you really have the power to shape the way you think, therefore, enabling you to shape what you become.
I hope this will give you a boost of motivation for the time being.
