Dream and Reality

What are your dreams?

Do you dream big or are you more down to earth?
Sometimes we just dream to get some sleep and lay down in bed as much as we want.

Or to go for a lovely stroll in the park/beach or some other place beautiful in good company.

Or to have an excellent read next to the fireplace ...

Wait!

How many of us Do have fireplaces?

Alright, let’s stick just to a good read & tea/cocoa/(Irish) coffee while it rains, right? Or?

Things like these, simple and easy to attain, make us feel warm & fuzzy inside and more importantly, they encourage us to think of ourselves as down to earth, not driven by gain and even how enlightened we are.

Personally, I have an issue with the definition of ”enlightenment” that everybody produces/has and twists to his taste, the same way you twist a warm, but not sufficiently big scarf on a cold, blowing winter day.

But that is another story, and I will tell you that another time.

Why an issue?
The pretense of enlightened simplicity, no matter under what name, remains a pretense.
If enlightenment/(self)knowledge is the goal, the person who attained that level of enlightenment by philosophy/psychology/anthropology/and personal experience and having read over 1000 books will laugh at this or even look at it with contempt.
Same way you look the crumbs in your bed or the constant dripping of the kitchen sink. It bothers you, you want to do something about it, but the critical question is: is it worth the effort?

Speaking of sport & fitness on the one hand and reading books & being a bookworm on the other, people often tend to put them on extreme opposites. Rarely do those that spend hours at the library have a six pack and huge biceps and rarely one may see a bodybuilder reading (… apart from the few that they wrote themselves). The curious thing is that both are related to dreams and goals. And here’s how it all became intertwined …

Just wait!

Every two months you get a body scan at the sports club to check progress and, if necessary, make further adjustments in the training programme. After each scan, I wasn’t fully satisfied and kept on changing both my training and my diet.
To stick to one’s diet may bring unexpected obstacles.
While I was training, an unexpected gourmet fiesta occurred, which lead to a series of gourmet soirees with the fairer sex.

But that is another story and I will tell you that another time.

After the first body scan, I tried all the different group work outs the club has to offer. I’ve experimented with pilates, yoga, body pump, tapout, Kangoo jumps, Zumba and even yogalates.

But that is another story and I will tell you that another time.

This time I will tell you my Zumba story.
