An average human body can have around 5 liters of blood in their body, which is around 7 percent of our total body weight. This blood is replaced by our body in 120 days, which means that our body is capable of producing 5 liters of blood within 4 months. Why are these stats important? That’s because, despite the advancement in science, human blood is a substance which can only be produced by the human body. It is essential for life, but no other machine can produce anything which can function as human blood.

Donating blood is amazing, especially if you're male. You get to recycle old blood, thus produce new blood in your body. It's almost like a detox. I used to give blood, mainly for the donuts afterwards, which were a great incentive for me. Now that I'm no longer eating donuts, the drive for donating blood is not as big. I'll still do it though, help save lives, though I've had experiences donating blood and fainting. Also after being pricked and prodded for two pregnancies and delivering, I'm not so keen on donating as of right now.

I think this post is great as such encouragement is important. The sense of giving that one feels after blood donation is so great. Moreover, it can lead to a life being saved. What greater charity can one do other than this. The gift offlife is the biggest gift one can give.
