Very helpful post! I smoked lightly for a few years, and I found that quitting was going to require a bit more than just self determination. In my particular case the gum worked great, and I was done in two weeks. But, I was really a very light smoker, so others may find they need to employ stronger methods. You've highlighted, very well, the full gamut.
