Attachments - the Genetics of Love and Friendship [Essay]
Once the river of your mindset suddenly runs uphill and there's no way back - to traditional thinking, conventions and norms. The flow of my mindset changed once I returned to my mother-town after almost two months spent in other cities - and I want to share with you some thoughts that basically reversed my understanding of love and friendship. I hope you'll prove me the opposite - I'll be thankful.
The last few months have taught me a very wise but sorrow lesson. There're no guarantees that if you have something now you'll have it tomorrow. That's about everything: people, friends, money, property, possessions. People change, money devaluate, possessions get lost or damaged. The only thing that you have is your personality - your only investment - all the other stuff is temporary.
Fake words, fake reactions. Even if people like you they will lie not to hurt you - it they don't like you they'll lie for another reason.
We'll keep in touch! - Lie
We'll definitely meet again - Lie
I need you - Lie
We'll be friends and support each other even if we can't meet anymore - Lie
The person is needed as far as it's convenient for both sides. When it becomes inconvenient the relations crush.

One needs support and the other doesn't want to be alone - they call it friendship
They like to discuss cars and watch movies together (that's not as awkward as to go to the cinema alone) - they call it love
One needs a clever person to speak to while the other is eager to listen - they call it brotherhood.

We call convenience with a very sophisticated word - relations - but never think about what really ties us to other people. Dependence? Convenience?
I don't want to state that there's no love or no friendship. Still not everything we call these two is really something light and nice. Few people have had a wonderful chance to experience either love or friendship and I don't belong to these lucky ones.
Be faithful to yourself,
