Hi @Fitgirl, I think you're doing an important thing, sharing your experience adopting animals from a shelter. My roommate and I adopted this lil cutie Meowzer from the humane society in Boulder when we lived there. She had been abandoned in a ditch on the side of the highway, and even so, she's been the perfect cat.

I recently did a post about deepening our connection with nature and how we should do a better job in society of teaching this to our kids. Hope you, and anyone reading this take a read and let me know what you think :)
