What would you regret if you died tomorrow?
Imagine that you do not exist tomorrow. Whatever your reason, your life will end in 24 hours, and the end can not be postponed.
What are your thoughts? Any regrets?
For example, that you have not spent more time working on the reports? That you have not clamored harder and more often in traffic? Or maybe it would hurt you did not even waste your time on TV or Facebook complaining about the lack of time?
More likely, you will regret that you have not spent enough time with your parents or children, friends, that you have not known the world as much as you would have liked. Or that your passion for cooking, drums or motorcycles has not materialized in any way. You may count among those who would have wanted to do something else alive, but for various reasons you have come to another road and to another dream that does not belong to you and you do not find yourself. Or you just wanted to experience some special experiences, enjoy more of what life put you on the tray, but you refused.
If you knew you were going to die tomorrow, would you do it differently?
Unfortunately (or fortunately) in reality, things are not so. We can not know for sure the moment of our disappearance, but it is in our power to prevent regrets or at least part of them. Delays do not benefit us, especially when it comes to our passions and loved ones.
You are alive and capable, at least at the theoretical level, to fulfill all your desires. Even those hidden ones that you're afraid of dreaming about. So let's take advantage of the time we have doing beautiful things that we like and do, more than just feeding our convenience and capping in the hope that in a hypothetical and comfortable future we will do them too. Because it might be too late.
Living your life differently may seem like too big of a challenge but being generous with compliments and open with your feelings to the ones you love is an easy start.
Like Frank Sinatra said in his song My Way, "Regrets I have a few, but then again too few to mention"
