When the need for non lethal combat is the better option, what do you do? Do you use physical contact against the other person? What if they are bigger and stronger or if it's an animal like a bear? I will show you how to make simple pepper spray for less than a few dollars.

Materials needed.
• Hot peppers (Habaneras if you can get, but make sure it's hot)
• Water (hot if you can)
• Coffee grinder or spice grinder
• Isopropyl Alcohol
• coffee filter
• empty spray bottle (try different types)

Step 1:
• I find the drier the pepper the easier to grind. Let it sit in the sun for a few days. Make it as fine as coffee grinds if you can. If not no problem. This is as simple as it gets.

Step 2:
• Boil water, enough to fill the bottle . If you can't boil just let it sit in water for a few days outside.
• Put the pepper in the water, try different amounts of pepper. I like to use 1/4 cup
• Wait till it's cool and add 3-4 caps full of the Alcohol. This helps burn the eyes.
• Stir it up and strain it. This is important cause if the pepper is not filtered it may plug up while you spray and it becomes useless. Use coffee filter, even paper towel or an old shirt works.

Step 3:
• Pour the solution in a bottle. I used an empty small hair spray bottle. You can use cleaner bottle that has different nozzle modes. Shake before using and yes you can use on food too. Pepper-spray-on-bear.jpg

Why use Pepper spray instead of a gun? Well if you don't want to go to jail if it shows you used excessive force. Or imagine shooting a bear with a gun and it bounces off its skull, (which it does happen). You now have a pissed off bear looking at you with rage like you kicked it in the nuts. If you spray it, it will likely just run off scared and looking for a water source. Sometimes it's the non lethal actions that is the best action. Well enjoy and stay tune for more.

Excellent advice, unfortunately in the UK we are banned from using pepper spray. We can only legally use the red dye spray (FARB GEL, criminal identifier).
