Observing the people, you will find that the person more close to the success, the less tendency he has to make excuses. The fellow who has not gone anywhere and has no goals to get anywhere is ready with handful of reasons why he has not gotten there. People with average goals are very good at explaining why they haven't, why they don't, why they can't and why they aren't.
Like any disease, excusitis also becomes more dangerous with time if it isn't treated properly. The patient of this thought disease finds himself suffering with this process: "My family brought me up in this way, I have poor health, I am broke, I am ugly, I have very little education and skills, stars are against me,I am too young or old" and the list goes on. For the entire day, he keeps on repeating these thoughts in his mind and finds himself very helpless. You can't hear any single word of enthusiasm and motivation if you talk to them. The same they keep on thinking , same comes out of their mouth and in their actions too.

If any major failure has happened to him and he finds a excuse for it, he sticks with it. The same excuses he keeps ready to explain himself and others what is holding him back to succeed in life. As the victim becomes identified with the same excuse each time he explains it to someone, the excuse goes deeper and deeper into his subconscious mind. Repetition makes the thoughts stronger and it does not differentiate between the positive and negative one. Whatever you repeat for the whole day, our subconscious mind starts working on it.
In the beginning, the victim knows within that his alibi is just a lie, it has nothing to do with the reality. But as days pass and he keeps on repeating the alibi, his subconscious mind starts believing it to be true and the alibi is the responsible reason for his failure. This becomes a hard reality of life over the time and he finds himself very helpless to take any corrective measures to cure this disease because it has penetrated to his subconscious mind.
