RE: If you cared you wouldn't blame someone for their weaknesses...
@geekpowered You are more than welcome to rant on my comment section any day you want!! :).
And it's not about whether people believe or not that addiction is an actual disease. It's science, it IS a disease. It's even been classified a disease by the Center For Disease Control (CDC). So, people can not believe it all they want, but, it's not something you 'believe in' or 'don't believe' in. Mermaids are something you 'believe in' or 'don't believe in'.
As far as being better, I feel that's personal. I personally strive to be a better me. I feel for myself, there is always room for improvement. As for others, I only help those that want to be helped. Even with addiction, as I've had it affect people I love. You can't force help on them. They have to be ready to receive it. :)

The real question is, do you believe in the make-believe pretty mermaids or the scary ones that eat yo face? :P
I think it's a lot harder to help someone that's not seriously trying but I don't think that you can't necessarily help them at all. I know that there are a lot of things that don't help them.
It's like if a friend has a weight problem. You can just nag them about it, or you can try to help them a little bit at a time if they want it. The nagging for damn sure doesn't help them but maybe if you are there for them, occasionally offering a better alternative, or going for a bike ride with them, or whatever, maybe that will help. It's a lot easier to help someone that's actively fighting...but sometimes you have to help them to get there.
The make believe pretty glittery mermaids for sure!!
Exactly. You have to just give support and be ready when they are. :)
