Nowadays men are growing up in a society where the media is showing them as being idiots. While it's good to have a sense of humor, it has become the norm. It's everywhere: commercials, TV shows, movies, etc... Sadly their goal is to be funny at the expense of men. The video below shows a compilation of commercials with these types of messages to young men:

Men are not able to take care of their kids
Men are childish and immature
Men can't make the right decision without women being around
Men don't know anything about food
Men are slobs
And so many more...

Now can you imagine if the roles were reversed, and women were the ones being portrayed as idiots? The country would've gone ballistic by now. These young men are growing up thinking that it's ok to fall into one of these categories and live up to these expectations of them. The young ladies are growing up with lower expectations of men. That's one of the reasons why it's very important for kids to have real role models in their lives to show them how men are supposed to be and act like, despite what the media shows.

Now you may wonder what can be done about this since this phenomenon is everywhere. One thing that we can all do is voice our opinions when these ads come out until it's no longer the norm. The example from the Huggies Diapers videos below from a few years back shows how your voice can be heard loud and clear. This was the sequence of events:
Huggies Diapers put out an ad --> Several Dads voiced their opposition to the ad --> Huggies pulled the ad and issued an apology --> Huggies released a new and better commercial.
