Hangover remedies - myth, or god's gift?
I have been hungover a few times in my life… I don't have a problem, but I do like to drink alcohol. And, the older I get, the less it takes to make me feel like I got hit by a tractor trailer full of fresh cow manure the next morning.
After all these years of drinking too much and waking up feeling terrible, I have found a few things that may actually work to make me feel better in the morning. Below is my list of remedies for a hangover - feel free to comment on their affective Ness, or lack of as it pertains to you :
To Advil liquid gel's and a glass of water before bed - this is more preventative, but it seems to work wonders.
Drinking a beer as soon as you wake up - I have felt better after doing this, but usually after a night of drinking margaritas. It's possible the beer just resets the equilibrium after all that sugar. There's also isn't very practical if your hangover occurs during the week and you have to go to work.
A big greasy breakfast (Or lunch, depending on when you wake up) - sometimes I think this is just good for the soul, but doesn't really do anything to cure your hangover.
Now for some things I have heard about, but have never tried…
- Hangover pills
- Gatorade
- Coffee and Aspirin
- Ginger/Peppermint tea
- Bananas
I've always heard that Pedialyte® works really well the next morning...
