RE: 10 Times People Caught Keanu Reeves Being a Hero in Real Life
I would imagine their are more good people in Hollywood than the public is led to believe. The problem is that if you do not proclaim to align with the ideology of the ruling class it is career suicide. There is no freedom of intellectual curiosity in the industry that claims to be a beacon for creative thinking. Lookup some of the things Roseanne Barr has said about Hollywood if you are interested in knowing the truth about the industry.
I agree. People aren't as interested in good deeds as much as they are falling stars. It assuages their envy and makes them feel better about their own dull lives.
For people in power controlling the minds of the public is everything. Hollywood is a big part of that. I don't think their is any doubt that Hollywood purposefully builds people up just to make a public spectacle when they fall. People know everything about the Kardashians and nothing about history. Fall they will. So many of them are sexually abused or addicted to drugs. The one thing you can't do however is have right leaning political views. That is career suicide in Hollywood.
I think you meant everything.
You are right-on about the rest.
You can be an actor and have right-leaning political views. Take Clint Eastwood, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mel Gibson for example. You just won't get any coverage from the leftist media.
It gives the impression that Hollowood itself is collectivist, which is untrue. It's run by a network of oligarchs who make millions off of their propaganda. Their programming intent is definitely Left, however, the message being that people aren't smart enough to take care of themselves and therefore need a strong, centralized government to control everything and keep them safe.
In Hollowood, Being a Leftie is just a good career move. Hollowood itself is all illusion. None of it is sincere but people are forever buying into it anyway.
@tomanderson: great that you point that out.
I think this is almost in every branch the case. People are saying things in the public but doing other things secretly in private not to ruin their reputation. If an actor actually would ruin his rep by acting kind is not so much a danger, I would say. But whenever one acts within established groups or realms it is smarter to stay true to yourself but at the same time not swim against the current.
There is a group in Hollywood called Sons of Abe. Hollywood is dominated by "progressives" and anyone who is right of being a communist risks career suicide. Politics are downstream from culture, so the ruling class uses Hollywood/ media/ social media/ and academia to control culture.
I think it would be smart to not giving labels to oneself. It is good when people are unable to label me. I would say that is the most peaceful state of existence. It's kind of difficult, though when I am in an environment where business is tough and self-marketing over important. Maybe changing lifestyle would help:)
It is a great point you bring up. People make assumptions about others when they find out they consider themselves to have a certain type of politics. This is why I personally tell people I am a "classical liberal". It is not something people hear much, thus, is less likely to come with assumptions. Free thinkers rarely find people they agree with on everything and being boxed in can be frustrating.
Thanx.
Yes, speculations and assumptions are hindering communication and can block understanding by quick judgments. How about not speaking in political terms altogether? Being asked where you stand politically, what else could you answer to make clear that you are a caring creature?
Good that your term "classical liberal" is not occupied that much.
One could speak of term-abuse :-) Also, using totally new or friendly terms stubbornly could be of help.
I must go to bed now. It's getting late. Good night from here.
Platforms like this that draw so many free thinkers give me hope for humanity. The modern education system and political divide and conquer strategies have completely taken away peoples ability to interact with others who think differently.
Me, too.
So let's prove this furthermore that the freedom of thinking is something we are capable of and look where and when we can find each other. :)
