Many companies have realized that with the changing times it is much better to treat the working population in a more flexible manner and that the traditional norms of a rigid working environment may not necessarily translate well to the new generation of working population which requires better flexibility to attain their full potential.

Even where there is a need for an office presence, the environment is usually more relaxed than in the traditional setting. The rigid suit and tie have given way to a much more casual dress cord with no negative effect on productivity. On the social side this has had a result of a better home life as those with children of a school going age as both partners are much more able to dedicate much more time to activities involving their children.

Without compromising on their work schedules it is possible to spend more quality attending to their children extracurricular activities when working from home by rearranged their work day to include important events and milestone in their children's development which an only led to better raised children.

The escape of the stress of the daily commute which in some cities may consume up to 25% of the working day together with lost productively and hostile working environments, in some cases, together with inflexible working hours which was disruptive to some family live and also resulted in various health issues may become a thing of the past. Many companies are realizing that having a flexible work arrangement is more productive than the usual 9 to 5 routine and this trend is peaking up worldwide as companies downsizes their onsite labor force leading to lowering of overhead cost in the form of reduced rental requirement of office space.

Companies that strictly don't have to have their employees physically present in an office environment have taken advantage of this trend in the change of behavior and have experienced better productivity and a happier labor force. With some countries like the Netherlands even adopting an even shorter working week, we are headed for a much more balance lifestyle were we have equal time for both work and leisure while other European countries like Ireland, Denmark and Norway have adopted less working hours while maintaining high annual average wages This can only bode well for the health of the working population and less strain on government's medical budgets in those countries that provide such benefits.

One thing most people don't think about is the environmental impact of offices. The amount of resources needed to build that office, decorate the office, heat/cool the office, clean the office and then the resources needed to employees to come to/from the office. If employees make a serious effort to actually put in a full 8 hours at home and reward their employers for offering work at home options it can be a great win-win situation.

Working from home tends to be less stressful to the body any one can accomplish than at an office.

I like your article. It's important that companies begin to think "outside the box" for the needs of families. Home offices are one important step in this direction.

I will just point out that the images you used need to either be your own (good to mention that if so) or obtained from a free site, like Pixabay and sourced in your article - to avoid whales flagging you for possible plagiarism.

The easiest way to source them is to put this code after your images:
{ name of source ]( url of source )

@viking-ventures Thanks for the upvote and the tip, am still learning and will do better next time.

My pleasure!
I have been doing a "Steemit for Newbs" series every month, and will re-run that one in about a week now. I love sharing what I've learned - especially when it might help others.

Yeah this is actually best for employees but by now I am asking myself ;

can this really work for all companies or just for great companies?
can this really work in all countries?

@tony19r may be you need to convince me more about those points.
Otherwise the article is beautiful I loved it.

@bmotives It may not be applicable to all companies due to the need to be physically present for many industries, like those in the manufacturing sector, but even those are being taken over by innovation in automation and robotics reducing the need for a large human presence.
In places where this is not the norm in the developing countries the practice is soon catching up.

Yeah that's true @tony19r

The Scandinavian countries have always been ahead of others in terms of education. Nowadays we see more and more companies allowing their employees to work remotely, which is great. Working from home can be challenging if you do not know how to use your time properly.

Agreeably ,it does require some discipline to manage your time at home if you are to get any work done.

This is a wonderful idea that most companies would not love to adopt because they want to monitor their workers and all, but that aside, it would be beneficial to mostly women who want to work while having an eye on their children.
