Pumpkin Patch-A Fun October Tradition Worth Experiencing!
October is a month full of fun activities and festivals! Before October ends I decided to visit Tanaka Farms in Irvine, California and take advantage of their Pumpkin Patch Festival! Many families have this annual tradition and I must say that for a first time it was very enjoyable and beautiful. Today I would like to share my experience with you at Tanaka Farms as I hunted for the perfect pumpkins and took part of all the activities at this festival.
Pumpkin Patch
Hunting for the perfect pumpkin was very fun! There are hundreds of pumpkins to choose from different sizes and even colors! Tanaka Farms offer just the perfect scenery for beautiful pictures! I highly recommend coming here as a family and taking pictures here to capture beautiful memories in the fields full of hundreds and hundreds of pumpkins. I lost count of how many pictures I took at every part of this farm, but definitely had a lot of fun playing with the scenery and capturing images. The Pumpkin Patch Festival at these farms provides more than hundreds of pumpkins. The festival consists of a corn maze, petting zoo, vegetable patch, wagon ride, pumpkin cannon, food and drink area and of course the pumpkin patch. There are plenty of activities you can take part of and enjoy a good half a day at these farms. The location it is very accessible and there is no charge for parking. The entrance to the farms is only $2.00, $3.00 for the petting zoo and $5.00 per person for the wagon. You can have fun at a very reasonable price at Tanaka Farms.
Corn Maze
There is no cost for the corn maze at Tanaka Farms. I have never been in a corn maze before, but liked the experience. Finding your way out of the corn maze is pretty fun. The maze has many 3 different routes to choose from. If you have the time you might want to try all 3 and see where it takes you. I liked that this activity was added to the festival as it gives it more value and makes it very entertaining!
Petting Zoo
This place was full of young kids having fun! For only $3.00 you get to a VIP experience and pet the animals at this small zoo. Kids love doing these types of things and being able to be surrounded by different types of animals and actually touching them. The area was well managed and allowed certain people at a time as well as very clean. There were sanitizes in multiple places so that when you excited you were able to sanitize your hands, which was a good thing to have.
Wagon Ride
This is one of the things I enjoyed the most besides taking pictures with the props and backdrops. The ride is only $5.00 per person and you can ride the wagon all day long! The wagon takes you all around the farms so you can get good pictures of the pumpkin fields, vegetable patch and even sugar cane field. It even goes to the strawberry farm, which apparently is another tour they do here at Tanaka Farms. I would love to do this when they have strawberries! Overall, it is a very enjoyable ride that lasts about 15 minutes long.
Pumpkin Cannon
I was surprised to see pumpkin cannon at this festival as I had never seen one before. As part of the wagon ride this is one of the stops. You get to see how pumpkins are inserted onto this cannon and then shot into the air. They even allow volunteers to be part of this activity and insert the pumpkins into the cannon. The kids were crazy about this activity.
Food
Food is an essential part of every festival and this could not be the exception! There is a snack area in these farms providing you some very good options. Once you have spent half a day going through the corn maze, taking tons of pictures in the pumpkin patch, the petting zoo and taking a wagon ride you most likely will be hungry! There are some snacks such a chocolate covered strawberries and strawberry lemonade using their own strawberries from the farm. Maybe this is why these tasted so good! You also have corn in the cob as well as tacos for those looking for something more than a snack. Prices were reasonable and food was not bad at all.
I had such a great time at Tanaka Farms and enjoyed taking part of all the activities offered! If you want to take a break from the busy weekends and chores I recommend heading to this if not other pumpkin patch before the season ends and enjoying a nice day with family or friends. You will leave the day with beautiful memories and pictures! Hope you have enjoyed this post! Thank you as always for your support.

Nice pumpkin photos! This really makes me want to go to a pumpkin patch. We don't have so many of those up here in Norway ;-) I enjoy your articles and wanted to tell you that they helped inspire me to start using Steemit - I stumbled upon your blog before joining and saw that you were doing well by sharing cool places you've been, which is what I would like to do. So far I've posted about some cool places around Norway, check it out!
