RE: Should we punish our children?
Best way to raise kids:
- Home schooling.
- Teach farming first.
- Let them show their true passion instead of you deciding on their career.
- Teach them manners.
- No I-phones till 18.
- Correcting instead of punishing, but with assertiveness.
- Stay away from the cities
- Respect Nature and its beings.
- Teach them being instinctual then judgmental.
I agree with you, although keeping them away from cities can give them a disadvantage for the future, depending on what they want to become as grown-ups.
Everything can be managed, we have forgotten to have passion for our very own mother nature, which unfortunately we no longer care about. In the name of modernization we are destroying everything, we have been getting for free from nature, since long we have been taking it for granted, and look what we now eat, GMO.
Kids in africa have built things like wind-mills, solar powered things, etc. without going to any schools, just researching internet. These paper which we call degree certificates, are worthless, and parents spend a fortune on them sacrificing alot, just to see kids succeed and leave them. Iv never understood this. There are somany examples. Recently a reptile hobbyist bred a snake that so called degree holder doctors couldnt do for years. Steve Irwin (Crocodile Hunter) or Cesar Millan (The Dog Whisperer), both have no degree in Animal Psycology, today they are the biggest names in their field. They were not born in cities.
Kids should learrn respecting parents, nature and God. Unfotunately thats not happening, due to the media. Hate sells, so they sell hate, then we blame kids.
You are right. Unfortunately this situation is so deeply rooted in our culture that it would be extremely difficult to completely remove children from it. Even if you have incredible skills and knowledge, without a degree no one would be willing to give you a chance. Home-schooling children and keeping them away from media and cities could help, but it puts them at a disadvantage in later life when they have to join the rest of the world.
There are certain communities that live a self sustained life. They are doing it. Have seen a few videos online.
However, almost none of the rich n famous have had a degree (some took after they became rich n famous) starting from Albert Einstine to today, they all left schools/collages, just followed their passion, already gave some examples above. Collage/schools never let u think out of the box, and you can see now where they are.
In India, read about the "Dabba Walas" today he is being offered to give speeches at Harvard, IIM's, etc. which are the biggest institutions in the world, he is not even 10th grade.
However there are many doing this and have done it, they might not be super rich and famous, but in their fields, they are well known or doing good enough. As unfortunately , today the only definition to success is material wealth.
You should watch this movie "3 idiots".
Yes, good advice, and I was taught at home, and instincts are great to teach, agreed.
