I just checked out your profile on Steemworld: https://steemworld.org/@xenoarchaeology and I tend to think that it has to do with the 15sp delegated by Steemit to start your account. Most votes you have received so far were worth 0 cents. Upvoted yourself right now doesn't benefit your account either as you have no power so it won't help you grow. In fact it takes away your steemit power that you can use to upvote others.

What I would do if I may give you some advice, is interact more with others , leave valuable comments and post more content. Over time it will get picked up by bigger account and you will actually receive some ( decent ) payout.
