Perhaps.........
A moment separated only by time
Where once two loves stood as one
Now distant by the many years
A passion buried like fossils, now unearthed.
Beneath the layers of unfulfilled relationships,
hid a desire that was never extinguished.
A deepened emotion again rekindled
since she has found him and him her.
Like the riptides off an ocean shore.
She has swept him off his feet.......again.
Elated by her presence of well-being.
Time has not faded their feelings.
Yet, her name, not what it was then.
Her name not his, but another.
Still like the schoolboy he was at their time,
his heart flutters at the murmur of her voice.
Their departure warranted no last kiss
not even a last good-bye.
Only to aspire a thirst that was never to be quenched.
Two souls that shared such passion can not,
could not have been for nothing.
Did they meet to early, at the wrong season.
Did outside resistance to their courtship,
the burden of youth, protective parental isolation
derailed a much voluminous bond?
Leaving only unanswered questions to what if's
and forcing a true love astray.
Years past....
He compares others to her kind of love,
yearning the dedication & sacrifice she once extended.
Remembering that early December morning
She had known more than he, her love for him.
Giving him her that no other could ever,
her to him and him to her forever.
Yes, the years past, only without her.
Time has matured what they both would become.
Would they ever love again, as it was meant.
Perhaps in another life
they were as one before this.
Perhaps in another life
they will be together after this.
A love true stands the test of time
It has manifest itself into others souls.
Sometimes like "Romeo & Juliet",
Landon & Jamie in "A walk to Remember"
Other times like "The Notebook"
and the "Love Story"
This will always be where their love remains.
Past, present & future......!
Perhaps in another life
their love will complete.
Perhaps in another life
Perhaps, they will be...........after this life!
