I'm Not A Minarchist. I'm A Pragmatic Anarchist.
Where did the police get the authority to shoot your dog?
The government, it would seem. Ok, where did they get their authority to bestow as they see fit? Those in these positions are called "public servants". The people in power should be accountable to the communities they represent. Therefore, we can logically assume THE PEOPLE granted the authority to the state, who, in turn, granted it to the police. There's only one problem.
I NEVER HAD THE AUTHORITY TO SHOOT YOUR DOG TO BEGIN WITH.
How could I have granted it to anyone? This whole system assumes an objective morality that, I think, the vast majority would disagree with.
This leads me to the conclusion that government and all coercive social programs are inherently unethical. This can be a tough sell to people. They want to hear what government will do for them. This has long been an issue for the Libertarian Party.
"What will you do for me if elected?"
"Well, as little possible basically."
But, deep down I believe most people really do just want to be left to their own devices. So, rather than flat out advocate anarchy to them, I'll advocate less regulation and interference at every level, every time, without fail.
I want them to realize how powerful they, and the rest of humanity, are. Typing TAXATION IS THEFT ad nauseum only gets us so far lol. Maybe, incrementally, we can focus on issues according to priority, as we see fit. As liberty is attained locally, people will realize how much better it is. It can spread and we will realize that FREEDOM is truly our common bond.
If you didn't want to be born into a representational republic then you should have been born in Somalia. Anarchist scum!
Thanks for sharing... Love it.
Much love d00d.
