I, wholeheartedly, agree with this: An intellect that isn't guided by the moral virtues of the heart is one of the most destructive forces in the universe.

Another one that I need to check out in this same vein (at least from the sounds of it) is Political Ponerology by Andrew Lobaczewski, even though it's rumoured to be a 'difficult' read I would love to get my hands on a copy.
It sounds dark... Then, again, we are talking about the problem of evil, here, and what human beings are capable of when without a moral compass.
