Shouldn't Men be Feminists?

This is actually a 5-minute free-write. but I intend to talk about something.

Yes, remember Chimamanda's ted talk? she obviously meant that everyone should be feminists. And did I think she was wrong?

No.

To come to terms with this, it would be better to assume that the word 'feminist' is somehow not tied to female dominance.

Rather, her definition of the term is what makes the speech sound.

In fact, her speech was fantabulous!

She defined a feminist, not verbatim as anyone; who's actively trying to make sure men and women are equal in society while almost 'tipping the boat' towards the womenfolk that we all should recognize their suffering.

But, this woman is intelligent. As much as she discussed the suffering of women, she also pointed out that men suffer too which is true.

I think Chimamanda was very witty in her talk making it balanced between both genders but still somehow saying that women must have a respectable space in society today.

We are in a world that is moving forward where intellect rules and the oppression of women is nothing but backwardness.
