5 disciplines you must have in your 20's to be successful in life #DH102
Defining your vision
It is said that if you don't know where you are going, any road will lead you there but you can never get there.
The Bible says,
Where there is no vision, the people perish... (Proverbs 29:18 KJV)
Vision gives you hope. Vision gives meaning to your life. Vision gives you a reason to exit. You have something to look forward to when you have a vision.
May be you want to the best entrepreneur in the world or break a record in the Olympics or perhaps a president of a nation or company. Whatever it is, your direction in life must be clearly defined especially in your 20's.
Staying in focus
Distraction are inevitable in life and even much more when in your 20's.
The power to shun them or give in still lies in your hands. If you are asked to walk as fast as you can with a glass of water in your hand, without a drop falling to the ground, your focus would surely be on the glass of water. I am not sure you would care so much about who's watching you. The same applies to your dream, if it's going to come to pass, focus is key.
Getting the necessary information
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... (Hosea 4:6 KJV)
I am yet to find out someone who became successful without knowledge. Warren Buffet reads about 500 pages daily. The major cause of people not achieving their dreams is lack of or inadequate knowledge. If there was a car invented that you could drive to your destiny, i think knowledge would be the fuel.
No one can achieve beyond what he knows. A commitment to acquiring relevant knowledge is very vital in becoming successful.
Managing your time
Time is the greatest asset in life. Life is time. What you use your time for, you use your life for!
The simple principle is, spend much time in the things that will help you achieve your dream and no time in things that won't.
Mentorship
We are not the first to begin living in this world. Others were here before we came. A requirement for success is experience. Experience has a price tag called 'time'.
Allowing yourself to be mentored by someone who is experienced in your field of interest is a step in the right direction. It will save you time and help you avoid many mistakes.
God bless!
