Halong Bay is a unique heritage because this place contains important vestiges in the process of forming and developing the earth. Which is also the residence of ancient Vietnamese people million years ago; great shape of nature with the presence of thousands of islands, many interesting caves clustered into a lively and mysterious world. In addition, Ha Long Bay has high biodiversity is concentrated with typical ecosystem. Also thousands of species of plants, animals are extremely rich and diverse. This place as known as the center of cultural and history values of the nation.

You can travel with your family or group of friends or by your own, it's depend on you. But the advantages of self-sufficient travel are freedom, comfort, no restriction on time, eat what you like, go to the place you need

This is my personal experiences visiting Halong Bay. Hope you enjoy.

How to travel?

We catched the bus and traveled 4 hours to get there. Halong city is about 300 kms northeast of Hanoi. You have to pay $10 for each ticket.

You can contact the hotel/motel before coming or when you arrive. They always have available room so don't be worry. The average price of hotel is $ 20 per night, luxury hotels or resorts can be up to $ 100 per night. The choices depend on your financial ability.

Where to visit?

Along the coast of Ha Long Bay is a popular resort called Bai Chay. Tourists can rest and enjoy the cool water, as well the sea breeze. In addition, tourists can take a boat to Co To Island to watch the beautiful coral reefs. This place is also suitable for who loves the wild and peaceful beaches.

Halong has a large cave system, each cave has its own beauty and the stories attached to it. Tourists can choose to visit Luon cave located on the island of Bo Hon to see millions of years old stalactites in many shapes and sizes. You will not believe in your eyes because of that magnificent scene.

What to eat?

I love sea food tho =)) So Halong is heaven to me. Overall, foods are fresh and tasty, also not too expensive. You can have a dellicious diner for 2 with only $30. Some tourism guiding website will recomment you to stay in Bai Chay, but I chose Hon Gai because it has cheaper hotel and tasty street food.

Total price?

My trip cost $85 for 3 days in Halong in total. I thought this is quite suitable for me as a student that time. Next year, my family has a plan to visit Halong.
