Nothing in excess is good: the golden word is mediocrity

in #lifestyle4 months ago

"Excess of nothing is good" is not just a Bengali saying, but a great truth of life. This saying is very useful in every aspect of our life, from eating to working. But how exactly? Let us understand the depth of this proverb better with the help of a few examples:

Everyone needs to eat regular, balanced meals to stay healthy. But eating excess food, especially fatty food, accumulates in our body and causes various diseases like diabetes, and heart disease. Even if you eat too little, the body becomes weak, and the risk of diseases increases. Therefore, it is important to eat healthy foods as well as in moderation.

Regular exercise (byāyāma - exercise) is essential to keep the body healthy. Exercise increases our energy, and boosts immunity. But, excessive exercise can cause fatigue, muscle soreness, and even the possibility of serious injury. Again, if you do not exercise at all (pathology - any at all), the body becomes sluggish, and weight increases. Therefore, one should maintain a regular but moderate exercise routine, keeping in mind one's body composition and capabilities.

Physical health alone is not enough (baked - only), mental health is also an important aspect of life. But when thoughts, worries, and stress cross the limits, they become the cause of mental illness. Again, it's not okay to be carefree all the time. Some thought, planning is necessary to fix the 起承轉結 (ki-shō-ten-ketsu - introduction, development, twist, conclusion) of life. To keep the mind calm, one can resort to activities like meditation, and yoga.

Humans are social animals. Building and maintaining social relationships is essential to a healthy life. But if there is excessive passion and addiction in a relationship, the balance of that relationship can be lost. Again, a completely solitary life is also detrimental to mental health. So friends, family, relatives - healthy and sweet relationship with everyone
