RE: Is Speaking In Tongues Needed For Salvation?

in #lifestyle5 years ago

No, speaking in tongues isn't necessary for salvation. It's just one of a number of spiritual gifts that God gives to people. And if it was necessary for salvation there wouldn't be anybody in a Charismatic church who's saved because they all babble and fake it.

(1 Corinthians 12:8-11 NIV) To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, {9} to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, {10} to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. {11} All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

Thanks for your reply @barncat.

I have heard that HERESY before explained verbatim.

It NEVER does address the new birth standard clearly set forth by Jesus in JOHN 3.

That HERESY states that WATER BAPTISM is NOT NEEDED for salvation. It also states you ONLY need to PRAY the SINNERS PRAYER and you are saved with NO BIBLE precept or example to support such a lie.

When you question the origin of the SINNERS PRAYER, because it is NOT CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE for salvation they take offense to the question about their religious brand of Christianity.

It is NOT the faith ONCE delivered to the saints. It is a false way for a religious brand of Christianity to give unsuspecting people a FAKE SALVATION.

The HERESY concludes that NEITHER WATER OR SPIRIT BAPTISM IS NEEDED FOR SALVATION...

No one of a sound rational mind will dispute that SPEAKING IN TONGUES IS NEEDED FOR SALVATION when the answer to the question is addressed from JOHN 3 which establishes the STANDARD for the COMMON SALVATION.

1 CORINTHIANS does not even have a voice that can contribute to an ANSWER IN THE ABSOLUTE because of the PLACE AND TIME when it is set forth in the new testament doctrine LONG AFTER the 9th chapter of ACTS when PAUL was converted.

Bear in mind, JOHN 3 establishes the STANDARD and ACTS 2 establishes the EXPERIENCE that TESTIFIES in TRUTH to what ALL BELIEVERS can earnestly expect to realize for their own personal NEW BIRTH SALVATION EXPERIENCE.

That is the ANSWER TO THE QUESTION ~ Is Speaking In Tongues Needed For Salvation?

Thanks once again for taking the time to engage!
