the whole concept of gaming for money has always been lost on me. In the past when i would play MMO's like especially Guild Wars 2 there were people in there that would farm certain areas of the map for rare crafting goods and then over a painstaking (but still allowed inside the game) process, sell said items for real world money. So not only were they playing a game for around $10 profit a day, but they were doing it in the most boring way imaginable.
They could have been doing almost anything else, including begging on the side of the street, and probably made significantly more money than this.
I want to check out that book, thanks for the link.
For me, it definitely wasn't only about making money with Splinterlands. I really did enjoy it for a while. Eventually, though, it started to feel like a chore.
You're right, though... if people want to make extra income, there are so many ways to do it in more efficient ways. I think that aspect just gives people an excuse to veg out in front of their computers. 😂
