What a ROLLER COASTER!!! 😱
In fact, it was scheduled for yesterday, but the guy didn't want to come while I was not home (He was going to repair the tile in my tub around the new faucet assembly)
So yesterday I got a call that he wanted to come today. At 11 am.
I said fine but I have to leave by 2:30 pm.
This afternoon I had a gig at Del Mar Gardens of Smyrna, which luckily isn't but about 6 mi from here.
This was the small "Magnolia"Dining room right inside the front door of the Skilled Care (nursing home/memory care) side of the facility
What was odd,was they almost always they have me on Fridays, in the LARGE dining room (the "Butterfly") in the back.
Just as I was pulling into the parking lot of this facility, I "checked in" on My Profile in You Know Where and saw that I had a message in... messenger, so I checked that as I pulled up.
One of my friends from back home (who is known to be a drama queen and a chatterbox) sent a long-ish message, pretty frantic, asking for my help and advice RE: something to do with Addiction and Recovery.
A recovering addict never turns their back on someone asking for help, but I replied that I was just going in to a scheduled gig, and I would get back as soon as I could when I got free.
She said that would be fine (she knows about the life of a musician)
I got in, got set up (early of course, but not as early as is my normal... people working in my bathroom you know?
The entire time, there were 9 Residents, 1 staff and 2 volunteers, that was it.
We had a good time though, and I got my check and was out a bit early.
Then I called my friend.
Her daughter had been her rock for years as they combatted the other child, a son and his girlfriend/then wife who was a METH HEAD.
Then after all that, after they had gotten custody of the grandchild, that DAUGHTER had gone out and started using.
Methamphetamine is a HUGE problem here in the south.
So this daughter had gone off the deep end,had become violent... well it is a long story.
We were still talking when I got to my apartment, only to find someone else (legally, with a Handicapped placard)
This was a BRAND NEW MUSTANG
Was parked in the spot right in front of MY apartment, where I normally parked.
So I found a spot a few down, backed in, and sat there while we finished talking.
I gave her what advice I could from 300 mi away, and having no 'real time' experience with Meth, but she really feels that she herself is in danger (her daughter has a key to the house)
Then just as I was saying "I gotta go" I noticed my
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT was on!!!
That's a first for this vehicle, which has temp gauge, oil and battery lights. (OMG! can it get any worse? [shut up Jerry, it could of course])
When I got to my door, the neighbor across the hall (also handicapped) came out to tell me that this person parked here in front of OUR apartments, then walked ACROSS the parking lot to the other buildings, where there were plenty of open spaces.
WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS SHIT?

The world is full of people like that, sometimes there is nothing left but to have patience and take a deep breath, so we take care of our health and avoid being attacked. Well that's what I practice! :-P
Thank you @mballesteros, I really do, for the most part, but sometimes things just gripe my a$$.
You see, I've had some serious anger management issues for years, which I now know is one of the results of PTSD, which I suffer from.
Now that I know, and now that I am getting compensation, I am more adjusted and able to let stuff roll off me. This was the end of a series of weird occurrances close together, and I just lost it.
I didn't DO anything, but I might if it continues, I might call the cops, and get them to contact the owner and say "Look, this parking spot is in front of a man's apartment, a man who is a disabled veteran, a man who is in pain at the end of the day with every step.
You on the other hand, seem to have no problem walking all the way across this bloody parking lot, so why don't you just park closer to YOUR APARTMENT?
More than likely, I won't do anything.

Oh no! 😭 So sad to hear about her. That's tough to be a battered wife, you are not physically abused but emotionally and mentally as well. Very difficult. 😭
Yep! That is it in a nutshell, then to be rewarded with suffering a debilitating disease seems to be adding insult to injury to me.
Yeah, it is very hard. Is there somebody taking care of her?
Nope! at present she is living alone (she is able to care for herself, she even still works doing hair/cosmetology for people)renting a house from my cousin, but she has a move in the works (I think closer to her family and possibly into a handicapped living facility)
Oh wow! She is a tough woman! A real fighter! 😍
