Alone...A Long Way From Home
This is the first time I have traveled out of the country alone. I can see advantages to it. I noticed immediately that people are more likely to go out of their way to be of help. You are also totally on your own schedule and itinerary. Which I feel is most important for me right now since I am feeling my way through where I would like to spend time throughout the year and not just looking for a vacation experience. l see it as looking for the places and activities that would make me the most happy. That way if I focus on just finding experiences that makes me happy, when I meet some one the odds of that person enjoying those activities as well will be much higher. It's a frequency thing. So single or partnered, I am covered...living my ideal lifestyle most of the time.
I've also realized some disadvantages as well to traveling alone. Unless you meetup with friends or are constantly meeting new people, you eat alone a lot. There is no one to snuggle with when watching movies or late mornings in bed. Also there is no one to share amazing sunsets, discoveries of plants, wild life, health food stores and adventurous cab rides.
Here are some pictures of moments I have captured roaming alone in Puerto Vallarta. Though pictures cannot capture subtleties the eyes see when taking in an experience, it helps to give the mind an access point to bring the memories back.
