Reason to use Linux instead of ... Well pretty much any OS you are using now

  • Most Linux distros are free

Since there are a lot of Linux distros you have to pay for, most of them you can just download and install even if you want to use it as a server platform. Mean while a copy of Microsoft Windows 10 Pro it's about 139 USD and what about MacOS? You are not even allowed to chose your own hardware you have to buy theirs, I have a big problem with that because I love the freedom of choice.

  • Linux is secure

How often do you hear a set of Linux users have been compromised by a massive infection? Not very often right? Did you know that according to W3Techs 67.8% of Internet Public Servers don't use Microsoft OS? the reason is that Unix-Like Os (Linux, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD, UNIX) are way more secure due to the nature of their structure.

  • Linux is Light and Fitness

Let's say you have an old PC and you do a fresh install of Linux Debian 9.1 with GNOME Desktop environment on it, maybe you would think "Those xervantex guys are a bunch of liars this Desktop environment is as heavy as Windows 10" but hey how many other Desktop environment options do you have on Windows or MacOS? The answer is there no option at all while Linux users have plenty of different Desktop environment to suit the needs of their Hardware like GNOME, KDE, XFCE, MATE, LXDE, CINNAMON. In xervantex we love light weight Desktop environments so we use Debian + XFCE + Numix + Compiz do you want to know how it looks? I let you a print screen of how my PC Desktop environment looks like. All this run smoothly on an old I3 with an even older 712mb NVIDIA GPU.

  • Linux has an Open Source view of life

What does Open Source mean? It means that you can use, change and redistribute the software, to anyone, for any purpose, so you can review the code of the Software you have Buy or Download to make sure there is nothing "dark or hidden" on the code.

  • You can Customize Linux to the Limits

There is no limit to Linux customization you can change about anything from Kernel to Desktop that means you can have an OS made to measure.
