Litecoin was created in 2011 by Charlie Lee, a former Google and especially the former director of engineering Coinbase. He leads his project transparently by communicating regularly on social networks (while the identity of the creator of Bitcoin remains a mystery). Just like Bitcoin, Litecoin has been conceived as a way to make financial transactions by eliminating traditional intermediaries like banks. Its code was developed on the model of its big brother, but its operation makes it much more efficient.
