Cease Thy Day - An Essay On The "R" Word

in #literature7 years ago

What is the other word used around here for an introvert?

The egotistical rebel.

Aren't we all the rebels from Eden, aren't we the prideful mankind above every creature, aren't we the higher intelligence manifested through evolution.

What is it with being an introvert then, and what is with considering an introvert worth self-consciousness and change.

For me, an introvert is a self-indulgent unit of the society. Being part of the bigger circle staying an individual and different. That might sound spooky to some but that is how dynamics of society or races is developed. Different patterns amalgamating together forming a bigger picture where each colour comes with its own frequency. Just as a rainbow has allocated spaces for the apportioned frequency.

Difference sum up together to form similarity and equity is giving each one their share of the privilege they deserve as they struggle for to pursue change or dreams. The individual's conformity can lead to teamwork while the team's conformity to the individual can lead to order. That said, the importance a non-conforming individual is fairly important in a stagnant society ruled by order.

I had been self-acknowledged of myself being different and non conforming for I have never been a fan of introduction or prefaces given by the highly affluent scholars of academia. Today, I started watching a movie "Dead Poet's Society" and here I am perplexed by the idea of ripping out the introduction for being useless. And I find myself not different or non-conforming rather pretty much existent already all around the world that movie talks about.

"We don't read and write poetry because it's cute, we read and write poetry because we are members of the human race and the human race is filled with passion."

The search for greatness or growth runs through every that individual's vein who find dullness and regression in the society he/she thrives. That search often resides within the society for it leads the roots of the emergence of that society just as empires glorify and then disappear through the cycle of progression, regression and digression. Similarly, And individual always begins alone thus making an introvert much overwhelming in this quest than the groupies.

My quest was getting myself to enter a library and sit there for reading being reminded to stay silent once in a while. And it never turned into a reality, for reading had been a meal for me that I never took regularly rather chunks and munch through different genres - often the ones not part of my academics.

Everything different is fascinating, not that it's different and new but it is not practised generally or for its lack of practicability by the casual masses. Why Nietzche, Virginia Woolf, Vincent Van Gogh ended up called over names while being acknowledged and glorified at the same time as well as into the future that is present. Because as Bano Qudsia refers to in Raja Gidh, different things lead to difference in the stagnant perspectives and thus it is referred to as abnormal and Foucaultian terms it lunatic for minority is always overwhelmed by majority and majority is often not capable of digesting the wider difference of spectrum of the different thinkers that are often termed later as free thinkers.

Thus, the term rebel or introvert is a word made for the difference but it has nothing to do with the challenging of status quo rather it tries to acknowledge and understand the status quo for better teamwork and order.
