Number 12. First: Jesus' testimony about himself as the light of the world - or - the second declaration in the Gospel of John ... "I am the light of the world."

"In the morning," the sun of nature rose from behind the Mount of Olives, the "sun of righteousness" also appeared from behind the mountain itself, and its lights shone throughout the temple. "I am the light of the world."

At that time the Lord of the Temple entered into the temple of the Lord, and spoke these words: "In the treasury he teaches in the temple." Toward the treasury, there were two lighted candles at night during the feast, in the Women's House. Their lights were bright throughout Jerusalem, as the Rabbis say, and in the light of their lights the disciples were rehearsing. Some say that Christ referred to the two lights when he said, "He who follows me shall not walk in darkness." However, it is true that these two lighthouses were a symbol of the column of fire, which led the Israelis at night during their journey in the dark, dark wilderness. So Christ turned the attention of his listeners from the two bearers, from the pillar of fire, to his wondrous person, saying, "O people, turn your eyes from the symbol to the truth, and depart from the shadows to the substance.
