People trapped in huge west London tower block inferno – reports
A 24-story tower on Latimer Road in west London has been engulfed in a very alarming blaze, with reports speech individuals have been trapped in flats within the higher stories.
The massive fire has engulfed the Grenfell Tower in North Kensington from the 2d story to the top floor, the London fire Brigade has tweeted. It added that at least 40 fire engines and two hundred firefighters are battling the blaze.
The building contains a history of fireplace safety violations and residents have been complaining concerning improper and obsolete safety standards as recently as last year, Ali said.
Posting an update via Skype at 5am London time, Ali reported that folks were still visibly at bay on a number of the floors. A video uploaded by RT’s Ruptly video agency clearly shows a person gap a window near a scorched and burning aspect of the building on one in all the upper floors.
That's terrible, hoping the firefighters can get everyone out safely. Hopefully if the building is rebuilt as well it will force them to get things up to fire code so this never happens again.
