Compact Tour Plan for London

in #london7 years ago (edited)

London Eye

Leave the tube at Waterloo station to see one of the most iconic structures of London. You may prefer to jump into the Ferris wheel if you have limitted time, so that you can see all London and other famous buildings from the top.

House of Parliement and Big Ben

Start from Westminster underground. Take a photo of Big Ben and keep in mind that Big Ben is actually just the bell but called like it is the name of clock tower.
Visit House of Parliement and take a tour. Since it is a working building there are some restrictions for the visit so check the timetables.

St Paul's Cathedral

Tube station is named St Paul's as well. It is a huge dome. Interior photography is permitted and the inside of the cathedral is fantastic. You should spend some time in here.

Buckhingam Palace

Leave the metro one of these 3 stations. St. James Park, Hyde Park or Green Park. If you want to feed squirrels prefer Hyde Park and spend some friendly time with them: :)
Do not miss Change of Guards ceremony in front of the palace. It is a different experience.

Trafalgar Square

Leave the tube at Charing Cross. See the Nelson's Column monument. Then visit National Gallery for free. If you have spare time you can easily go shopping in Covent Garden or have a meal in Chinatown. If it is getting dark Soho is best choice for a drink.

Tower Bridge

Leave the tube at Tower Hill station. Go directly to the lovely 18th century pub "Dickens Inn". Try some English ale. Then walk through the amazing Tower bridge and enjoy the view of Thames River.

Natural History Museum

Leave the tube at South Kensington. This museum interprets the natural world very well. I specifically recommend the blue zone including dinosaurs and mammals.

Piccadilly Circus

Piccadilly is the best choice for the Night life. It would be fun!

BONUS:

Take a picture with famous red telephone boxes and red busses of London! :)
