Imatra, Finland. The world's only memorial to suicides

In the early twentieth century, the bridge at the waterfall became a favorite place for suicides. Suicides have taken such a sweep that, since 1909, they have stopped selling one-way tickets for a train from St. Petersburg to Imatra.
In addition, local authorities had to pay monetary compensation for the burial of bodies to peasants living downstream and regularly catching the dead from the water.
