The myth of Orpheus and Eurydice
Pay attention that today I will tell you the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice.
Orpheus was the son of Apollo (and grandson of Zeus) and of Calliope, the muse of epic poetry.
Orfeo was born with an incredible talent for music.
With a Lira that Apolo himself gave him, Orfeo lived great adventures, even accompanied the mythical Jason and his Argonauts in the ...
Search of the golden fleece, several times saved the day as when with his music he fought the song of the sirens and even ...
On one occasion he managed to placate the furious sea thanks to the power of his music.
One day he meets a Nymph called Eurydice and falls madly in love with her.
He wrote songs and poems.
And she corresponded to his love and they got married.
The love of the happy couple was known to all and there was someone who began to fall in love with Eurydice and desire her in secret.
Aristeo, another son of Apollo, spied her for days and when he had the chance he found her in the forest and tried to possess her.
She managed to flee from Aristeo, went to see her husband to tell him and to protect her when suddenly felt a pain in the foot.
It was checked and had two small red dots from which came a small trickle of blood.
He had been bitten by a snake while running away.
Orpheus went out on his search and found her resting in the middle of the forest.
As he approached her to embrace her, he realized that his beloved was dead and disconsolate clung to his body and cried deeply.
Every day he roamed the world and sat on the banks of the river singing poems that reflected his agony and pain.
The gods and all the beings of the world were moved and urged Orpheus to go on a dangerous adventure.
I would go to Hades in search of Eurydice.
The first thing he did was face Charon the ferryman, who convinced him to take him in his boat and cross the River Styx.
So our hero was avoiding the dangers of the underworld to recover his beloved.
Then he found himself face to face with Cerberus, whom he managed to defeat with his music and continued on his way.
And finally he met the lords of the underworld.
Hades and his wife Persephone.
Remember Persephone, The protagonist of our story the other day?

She and her husband were not going to allow Orpheus to take Eurydice from the world of the dead.
Orpheus managed to convince them with one condition, Hades told them they could leave the underworld but could not look back or ...
Otherwise, Eurydice would stay in the land of the dead forever.
And so they reunited and together they crossed the hades.
The road was long and very difficult but Orfeo did not turn at any moment to see his beloved whom he held firmly.
Finally he managed to come to the surface and finally he could look again at Eurydice, they both met their eyes again and smiled.
Orpheus had managed to descend to the very underworld to recover the love of his life.
And suddenly Eurydice began to fade ...
Orpheus saw with terror that one of Eurydice's feet was still in the shade.
He had flipped too soon and she was gone forever.
And I regret to tell you that here ends the story of Orpheus and Eurydice.
But why did Persephone and Hades not deliver Eurydice well?
Because despite everything Orpheus did, he was considered a coward who did not really love Eurydice.
Do you know why?
Because if it really had been true love, Orpheus would have died for her to be together in Hades forever.
So after this turn in the plot, we have reached the end of our story and I can only say.
End.
