Bright and early reflections on my lovely wife
Woke up at 4AM today, and headed to the airport. Made it right in before boarding time. TSA line was a bit long, but moving along.
Today am heading to Florida to check on one of my sites. A nice three day trip, with a hefty to do list.
Thus, I got some time here on the plane to blog.
So, I was talking with my wife last night about Steemit. I told her I was going to be blogging and stop using Facebook. She asked me what I would blog about. I answered, technology, home automation, cars, music, food, etc. She then responded I should instead write about her. Therefore, for my second post, am going to blog about my wife
A little history
I met my wife in high school. I was a Junior and she was a Sophomore. At first, I thought she was stuck up, she probably thought the same of me. However, it was her who started writing letters to me. Remember those days, when a girl would give you a letter folded in such a way it would take a lot of patience and time to open it and not rip it? Yeah, she would send me those. Matter of fact, I believe we still have all of those letters boxed up. Anyways, we can say she made first contact. We started dating a few months later and that was 2004…2005…somewhere on that range. She knows the exact dates. We stayed together through out college and ended up getting married on November 28, 2009. I really hope that date is correct! I would check Facebook, but my phone is in airplane mode right now. We now have two beautiful children, a girl who will be turning 6 next week and a my little me, who is a year and half.
My wife, caring, beautiful, born to be a mom
Do you love me? She often asks me. Lately, with work and everything else going on, I must not be saying it enough. Yes, I lover her, more than she knows or more than I can express. Does she love me? Hmmm, I think so, she puts up with me, smiles at me, sometimes gives me the look, but at the end of the day, she is always there for me.
She compliments me in every way. I can be a bit disorganized at home, but she is always there to pick after me. She takes care of me when am sick. Most importantly she is a fantastic mom. When we got married, we started talking about children. We waited a year after we got married to conceive our daughter. Did not take much trying :-P. I think when we found out my wife was pregnant, it was one of her happiest days, not to compare to when our daughter and son were born.
I have always had this feeling she was born to be a mom, and by no means am I being sexist.. My wife only attended a semester of technical college, while I finished my bachelors and got a masters, and have had the highest paying jobs. Thus, we decided, I would provide, while she stayed at home with the kids. It was one of my goals to one day allow her to do that, and it did not take long. Thus, my wife is the CEO of our home. I still have the last word, but as all men know, a happy wife equals a happy home
As a stay at home mom, she is 24/7. I sometimes complain when I have long 18 hour days at work, but she tops that off many times, as she is on the clock all of the time. She is great with our kids, what better person to take care of kids than their own mother. It is not an easy gig, that is for sure. There are days I get those text messages where she is about to lose it. However, she never does, she keeps it together. She is just plain awesome. I am proud to have found such an awesome mom for my children. I did good,
Now, I want her to know that just like she has had my back all of these years, while I pursued my education and reached my goals, I will always be there for her. I know I am not the best husband, nor the best father, there is much room for improvement there for me. She would say otherwise, just to make me feel better. As I write this blog and think about all she does, I realize I must turn things up a notch. I need to let her know I love her, say it every day, show our kids how privileged they are to have such an awesome, loving, caring mother.
I love you!
It's such a sweet story! You both are really lucky to have each other :')
