~ a reminder to be good to yourself ~
hey! my mumma used to remind me to speak kindly to myself and I haven't really realized how important this is until recently. it's not acceptable or appropriate for others around you to be rude to you or speak down to you, and so it's important to hold this same integrity with our own thoughts of ourselves. when you have a negative thought about yourself try to notice it and say the opposite to yourself - for example the other day i saw my stomach in the mirror and my brain said "gross" and i was caught off guard! i'd never say that to anyone else nor would it be okay for someone to say that to me, and in feeling the immediate negative effect that saying something rude to myself had, I thought "my stomach is beautiful" and i immediately felt relief and felt better... so i've been practicing this - working on changing my thought patterns to be more positive... so far it's helped me feel better overall, and has helped calm my anxiety day-to-day. as it helps me, i hope it helps you too. you're important, i promise.
