Well the Macbook is expensive for sure, but in return you get some awsome Apple quality in return.
Faster and more powerful than its predecessor the laptop is worth the buy.
Put the 2022 MacBook Air next to the new model and you won't actually see any difference.
Both are predominantly slim, made of aluminum equipped with high-quality screens and make almost no noise due to the lack of a cooling fan.

M3 Processing Power

The main change is on the inside: the new MacBook Air runs on a
more powerful chip called the M3.
Apple used to work together with Intel for the develepoment their laptop processors.
However since 2020 Apple has been designing and producing the chips itself.
First with the M1, in the year 2022 it was succeeded by the M2 and at the end of 2023 the company made the M3 chip which is currently implemented in the latest MacBook Air model.
Every processor is of course the heart of a computer, it determines how fast apps run and how quickly complex actions are being performed.
According to Apple the M3 chip is 60 percent faster in comparison to the M1 processor from 2020.
The difference in computing power with the M2 Macbook Air is a lot smaller.

What About Gaming ?

When turned on the computer starts up a few seconds faster than its predecessors.
In practical tests performed by various influencers like Max Tech and Appleinsider no big differences have been noticed when performing simple tasks.
The new Macbook Air laptop handles videogames much better than previous models, while testing the Mac version of 'Death Stranding', a large 3D adventure game in which you have to transport packages through a dystopian landscape.
The game still runs very smooth on maximum graphic settings and also
loads significantly faster than on a MacBook Air with M2 processor.

Extra Memory Needed For High Level Multitasking

The MacBook Air has been made available since early March starting at 1,299 dollars, for that amount of money you get 8 gigabytes of RAM.
When working with programs simultaneously, the laptop uses al of that RAM.
This actually ensures that you can quickly switch between apps without having to worry about some form of lag or glitches.
When performing heavy duty tasks like for example gaming and 3d designing at the same time while several other apps are also running (some people do that), it is advisable to buy a Macbook with 16 gigabytes of RAM installed.
Those Macbooks are approximately 300 dollars more than the 8 gigabyte versions but at least you will have the ensurance that no problems will occur when doing such crazy stuff as mentioned above.

MacBook Air Improvements

Apple's new laptop has a few practical, but relatively minor improvements.
For example, you can now use two external screens at the same time instead of just one.
The Wi-Fi connection is also faster, Apple now uses Wi-Fi 6E.
This makes a higher download speed possible, comparable to a cable connection.
However it should be noted that the router and other devices must also support this protocol.
Apple promises a battery life of 18 hours on a full charge, if you don't do anything too crazy.
Tests on the Macbook Air M3 have proven that a battery lifespan of 18 hours claimed by Apple is slightly exaggerated .
For example, when using the Chrome web browser after about 4 hours the battery had dropped at 60 percent.
When conducting the same test with the Safari browser the battery still had 80 percent of power available.

Conclusion

Actually, the new MacBook Air is just slightly better in all aspects.
This is good news if you have been using an outdated laptop for years and are now ready for an upgrade.
Regardless of the minor improvements mentioned earlier the latest model is not a revolutionary step forward compared to the company's previous machines.
The MacBook Air M3 is of course not a bad laptop, but one that is difficult to recommend instead of its cheaper almost just as good M2 predecessor.
In fact you can buy a laptop that is a little slower, but worth it because the difference in power is actually not very noticeable.
For many laptop users this will be the perfect ratio between price and quality.
