Who I Am and What I Do

Greetings! I was told about Steemit and the opportunity that is here about 6 months ago from one friend. Another close companion introduced me to this site reiterating the same sentiments as my other long time friend. I was working a job giving me close to 76 hours a week and there was no spare time in my hands at all. Enough was enough and I got a standard full time job. It was magically my time and I had opened up for more projects and ambitions. So the doorway to Steemit had finally come at the right time. Now with that preamble out of the way, I figure a good introduction should be applied so you know who I am and what I do.

My name is Robert A. Powell. I come from a small Indiana city and work a basic full time job. On the side I write books, practice occultism, make ambient music, and run a podcast about esoteric topics. I have been practicing in the occult since the age of sixteen. I also have a love for the paranormal. I guess one could say I have a love for things that have to do with the unknown and finding answers in my life in every nook and cranny. I used to have a YouTube channel, but I migrated all my YouTube material to my website. There are a few studies in the occult that I focus on as often as I can. I study a system of magick from antiquity that is found in "The Greek Magical Papyri in Translation with Demotic Spells" and "Leiden Papyrus", stoic philosophy, paranormal, western esoteric magick, kabbalah, tarot, geomancy, astrology, history, and history of the Bible. Theses are to name a few and there is much more beyond the tip of the iceberg.

Firstly, the PGM, Papyri Gracae Magicae, has been in my life since mid-2015 when Jake Stratton-Kent introduced this world of ancient magick to my study of Renaissance magick. I was studying Cornelius Agrippa and Johannes Trimethius at the time. The Greater and Lesser Key of Solomon were also a part of my study as well. When I saw the similarities between magick of antiquity in terms of methodology in comparison to magick 1600 years later it caught my attention. There are a few remnants of how this magical system was used and I will outline it all here.

Secondly, my mind has a deep affair with stoic philosophy of Plato, Iamblichus, Diogenes, Aristotle, Socrates, Thales, Anaximander, Pythagoras, Seneca, and other philosophers. I was deeper in the rabbit in this ancient philosophy when it was found to be the root of modern western occultism and science by influence. These are the keen details that opened up my eyes to the world of the metaphysical theories, practicality of life, and wisdom that can be applicable everyday. I learned how to convert simplicity to something very deep and meaningful through these processes.

Thirdly, it was the paranormal that had sparked my interest in the occult. When I was sixteen there was a shadow person that I had seen a few times. It was no big deal until this shadow person started to pound on my front and back door when my friends were at the house. The experience really did not scare me because I was so acquainted by this being. I sought answers with the preacher, priest, and even paganism. I could not find a single answer. The only thing that came close was a few year later when I discovered the occult. I feel in love with paranormal investigations and theories. I even have adapted these to many of my practices for validity.

Fourthly, I have most of my roots in western magical systems . These can cover western kabbalah, tarot, ritual magick, the amazing occultists in history, and the study of methods. There is so much in this part of the writing it would span hundreds to thousands of books completely. So I have made the commitment to make this place and my blog to get the content based on this subject.

Conclusively, I would like to thank all of you for reading this and your support. I am hoping to come on here as often as possible with valuable content and a warm heart. I am generally not a huge fan of social media, so this will be a taking a risk for me personally. Hopefully it permeates well and brings plenty of fruition for both you and I.

XVIII!
