SLC S21W1 | Cleansing, face types and implements necessary to perform a good makeup
Hello steemians I'm excited to take on this activity. Slc season 21.
Today we will be learning face types, cleanliness and implements necessary to do a good makeup. So, lets dive in.
💄According to what was established in the previous module, analyze what type of skin you have, how you should take care of it, and what type of products you should use for that type of skin
Good question. First, I have oily skin. It is characterized by frequent acne and blackheads due to excessive sebums.
I use a foamy face wash every evening to remove excess oil and dirt and I apply gavi sunblock at night and I avoid any oil based creams and cleansers.
I also exfoliate with Asante exfoliating scrub . It comes in various types and flavors but I use the salt, tumeric and ginger type.
I also apply vitamin c serum by Dr rasheel and the estelin tumeric vitamin serum to ensure that I do not strip my skin of its natural oils completely
Then I use the simple hydrating moisturizer as a body cream. This cream evens out my complexion and eliminates sunburn and different skin tones and also keeps my skin hydrated without accumulating excess sebum.
Ialso use a chapstick for my lips to eradicate dry lips especially during the harmattan season here in Africa. The weather at times may be really hot leading to dry lips that may actually crack an open wound if not treated, thus my lip balm helps in retaining moisture in my lips
💄Show us a personal photograph, in which you must explain the shape of your face and also tell us how you should contour and illuminate according to your specific shape. (This answer must be purely explanatory).
My face as seen in this picture is oval. As a makeup artist I love doing my makeup myself.
First, I use primer to dry my skin and to help the makeup last longer then I apply foundation after which I use the right shade of powder for my brown skin tone to blend thoroughly. Then I contour my jawline, my forehead and my cheekbones and add some blush to my cheeks. Using a darker shade, I contour my eyebrows to the two sides of my nose , blending the eyebrow area well and then I highlight the middle area to give my nose a smaller shape. Using a lipliner I draw a thick line along my lips then use a little lip brush to blend it then I apply a lighter color at the middle part to get an ombre lip or a transitioning impression and I blend once more. Finally I use my face spray. This way, the makeup doesn't fade but stays the same for hours.
💄According to the implements necessary to achieve good makeup, which of them did you know before and which ones do you use frequently; did you use them correctly? Which do you think are really essential when applying makeup? Explain your answer.
As a makeup artist, I knew the flat brushes, sponge brushes , paint brushes and eye brushes.
I use the eye brushes frequently for myself and my clients, the sponge brushes and the flat brushes and yes I use them correctly at least to the best of my ability.
The sponge brushes are important for blending foundation and other liquids thereby giving it a polished look. One cannot use just any type of brush for a job like this. Blending must be done with care and a necessary tool like the sponge brush needs to be used. The paint brushes for lipsticks is also an important tool because it will highlight the transitioning of the lipsticks used especially in achieving an ombre lip and eye brushes are also essential especially for applying the eye primer.
The eye primer is a white solid product which is used by drawing a thin line below the eyebrow area and then applying it all over which makes the eyeshadows brighter, thus using an eye brush will ensure that the line is straight and good-looking and is also great for applying for glitters carefully so it doesn't enter the eyes.
💄According to what was explained in the previous module, if you need to apply concealer (a liquid or cream product) to correct an imperfection, which of the implements do you think you could use for its application and which one for its blurring. Explain your answer
Well, if I wanted to correct an imperfection maybe a scar then I would simply go for a foundation and powder that matches my skin tone using a sponge brush to blend a generous quantity over the flaw.
