Mascaras - Favorites Review and Dream Mascara
Man, have I avoided this blog for weeks or what? I hate writing but this meme (plus imbibing some of my favorite merlot) inspired me to create a blog entirely on mascaras. Plus, I always get fueled up about Steemit when @r0nd0n from Freezepeach Radio urges his listeners to participate. It's entirely his fault I'm even writing this thing. You can all glare at him now.
Dream Mascaras:
What mascaras would I love to have in my makeup kit just because...?
- Guerlain Noir G Mascara - um, packaging is everything. The long side of the tube snaps open to reveal a hinged mirror. Hello easy touch ups!
- Christian Louboutin's Les Yeux Noirs Mascara - again, packaging. Hefty metal tube with gorgeous studs. <3
- Kevyn Aucoin's The Expert Mascara - I have loved every bit of makeup I have purchased or tried by this brand. It's used by pro MUAs and absolutely superlative. It's not pricy at all ($6 more a tube compared to what I am purchasing now) but I have never gotten around to adding it to my collection.
- Givenchy Noir Couture 4 In 1 Mascara - a great mascara must have superb formulation with nutrient-rich benefits such as this one. Pluuuuuus the design of the tube and the wand. Can you tell I'm a sucker for packaging?
- Chantecaille Faux Cils Longest Lash Mascara - rosewater in a mascara? Geez, that alone sounds luxurious. Definitely on my must try before I die bucketlist.
What's your favorite mascara?
For the past 3 years, mine has been Urban Decay's Perversion mascara. Why is it so great? For starters, I am accused of wearing fake lashes constantly. It has gotten annoying and I started letting people 'pet' my lashes just to prove they are real. No, I did not have long lashes before I started using UD's Perversion religiously. It seriously keeps my lashes soft and supple. They always look and feel real rather than stiff and brittle. It stays on but is removed with ease. Most of the time (read: not running late) I add the Subversion Mascara Primer because it has a keratin complex and conditioner to protect my lashes through the day.
- Secret tip: I sleep in my Subversion once a week. How many of you ladies deep condition your hair every now and then? Isn't your lashes hair as well? Why aren't we conditioning our lashes like we do our hair? Lashes need love too!
- My lashes do not fall out near as often, so I have more
- They have been able to grow out longer since they are not breaking off due to being brittle.
