Regardless of your job or vocation, project management is part of your daily life. Here I present the nature of the concept and the elements that make up a project with their phases.

Defining the concept

Project management is a methodical approach to planning and guiding project processes from start to finish. According to the Project Management Institute(PMI), the processes are guided by five stages: initiation, planning, execution, control and closure. Project management can be applied to almost any type of project and is widely used to control the complex processes of software development projects.

Elements that make up a project: date of beginning and ending, a goal or result, a benefit, resources. Without these elements, the project is likely to lose coherence.

Phases of a project

Initiation - at this moment it is proposed and clarified what is the need or what have to be solved, what tools are needed and what are the possible options.

Planning - planning involves the actions that must be taken, such as: activities, action plans, that you will be depending etc ...

Execution - during this period you must be alert to all types of risk and a constant evaluation of the project is maintained.

Closure - it is in this final stage, where you measure the achievements, you realize if the objectives were reached, you must identify which strategies worked and can be implemented in future projects and which not.

Project management can cover much more than what is established here, it all depends on the context and the point of view that is being assumed, my intention is not to make you a professional in this aspect, it involves education, effort and experience. What I really want is to raise awareness about this system and how we can get the most out of our plans and projects.
