What is A Mandela Effect?

                                 By:Darkwolf3274

Before we get started, I would like to begin by saying that I am not the foremost expert nor judge on what does and does not constitute as a Mandela Effect. I would, however, like to speak about a couple things including a bse definition of a true M.E., different types and categories of M.E., and finally a little bit about youtube.

As mentioned before, there are different types of Mandela Effects.First I would like to start off with what constitutes as a Mandela Effect to begin with. In this writer's opinion one thing that must be present is a GROUP of people to agree on it. This should be a very important factor on whether or not something is truly a Mandela Effect. By its very definition it is were a group of people share the same “altered” memories. So first and foremost for a Mandela Effect to be real, a group of people must agree that they also remember it differently.

A Lot of misconceptions of the Mandela Effect have to deal with logos. For a lot of people , they will see a video on youtube and not usually do very much more research. As far as logos go, this is a dangerous path to follow. The reason is that it can lead to false misconceptions, and by default, false Mandela Effects being agreed upon. One tool that i use to attempt to verify a logo M.E. is Logopedia.com. Here you can find logos for most companies from present day all of the way back to their very beginning. For instance, if i see a video put out about a new logo change being put out , i will look at logopedia. If they have changed their logo recently, then there is no Mandela Effect. However if no actual rebranding can be found, then it is most likely an effect.

Now there is another kind of Mandela Effect phenomenon, and that is personal Effects. This is where things become a little harder to define. Mainly because these are based solely on personal reports. Generally speaking, these usually involve a time slip of some sort . I, myself, have had a couple of personal instances that I believe could be attributed to the effect. One such would be opening a pack of supplies at work, going back to grab another out of the pack moments later , only to find the pack closed up like it had never been opened to begin with. Although these occurrences are usually quite small, like in this example, it still suggests some type of timeline tampering.

Another type of personal Mandela Effects reported are Deja Vu and Synchronicities. Most everyone in the M.E. community has reported these to become almost commonplace. Most everyone knows what Deja Vu is, where we are in a moment that feels so familiar that it feels like we have lived the same moment before, all the way down to the very specific placement of people and objects. In the great cult classic movie “The Matrix” the character Neo is told that a Deja Vu moment is a “glitch in the matrix”. This leads a lot of people in the M.E. community to surmise that the effect in itself is a “glitch in the matrix” of the universe, or reality itself even.

Another major oddity that has been reported in the community is the increase in synchronicities since beginning their research into the phenomenon. synchronicity was first defined by Dr. Carl Jung . He stated: “ that events are "meaningful coincidences" if they occur with no causal relationship yet seem to be meaningfully related. I recently decided to secretly up and move to another state. Without telling but one person, I booked my flight and quietly began my preparations. From that moment until the moment i left, every youtube video i watched had little hints in it. One video i watched hours after buying the ticket specifically said “things are about to take flight”. This was only one of daily instances. I find it very synchronistic that no one knew i was going anywhere, and i don't personally know most of the youtubers that I watch. Yet, for some reason, every single one of them kept referencing things about to take flight, things about to be moving, and so on.

I am sure that most people reading this can think of at least one time that this happened to them. Like when you are in a group of friends and you think of something completely off of the current topic but you don't say it, then moments later another person says your thought word for word. It seems, though, that to people who research this phenomenon, it almost becomes common place, and not so much a random occurrence. It is for this reason that most believe both synchronicities and Deja Vu are directly tied into the Mandela Effect phenomenon.

Finally , a word of caution about Youtube. Not so much youtube (which I could write articles on for days) but certain creators on youtube. Specifically a few in the Mandela Effect community. There are certain creators that have made their channel on bringing to light new instances of the M.E.. I think that these channels are great for people, but there are some that are more credible than others. Channels like Moneybags73 ,for instance, Ii feel is very genuine in the content that he presents. There are, however, others whom this author feels are not so genuine in their content. A lot of these creators get away with this by calling things a “Possible” M.E. There is even one creator who will find 5-10 “new effects” a day. I do also believe that some creators are merely trying to discredit the the entire thing and make us look quite foolish by bringing out a ton of disinformation.

Another tactic that creators will use is to find little oddities in logos, like an “A” touching an “R” or a “T” that is artfully drawn and try to call these Mandela Effects. But let's be really honest with ourselves for a minute. How often do we study every inch of a logo. You probably don't remember the T touching the S because it was never ever important enough to care in the first place. Most importantly remember, some people have begun to make alot of money by constantly putting out "new" Mandela Effects, which gives them a need to stay relevant.

In closing I would just like to say, like always, please use your own discernment and never take anyone's word on anything without researching it for yourself first. I am not a judge or jury by any means when it comes to the effects. I do, however, believe that in a community like this, where we are already being looked at as more than a little Coo-Coo, we need to ensure that we keep a high level of truth amongst ourselves, and run out those that bring disinfo purposely.
